Volunteering
Co-ordinators (Duty Officers) Needed
Do you have an hour or two spread over a week and like chatting with people on the phone? Are you a good organiser? Perhaps you might like to become a LUPIN Co-ordinator and arrange for one of our volunteers to help people in the community.
What is involved?
Our Co-ordinators answer calls and voicemails to the LUPIN number, 01730 892572, which are directed to their mobile phone. Then, when convenient, they arrange for a volunteer driver to take the client to his/her appointment and bring them home again. Details of tasks are recorded on a spreadsheet. Usually our Co-ordinators are on duty for 1 week in every 4.
Help and guidance will be given.

Drivers Needed
Do you enjoy driving? Do you enjoy meeting new people? If so, do you have any time in the week when you could help us to provide transport for people trying to get to medical appointments, who have no transport of their own and cannot afford to pay expensive taxi fares.
Our drivers may offer their services on set days of the week, between certain times or on an unlimited basis. Whatever is offered, all drivers only agree to do journeys that they wish to do. No-one is ever under any pressure to agree to a request for help. We all understand that commitments to friends, family, activities and the like must take priority.
Drivers are contacted by phone or email by the co-ordinator on duty. They submit a mileage claim to our Treasurer every two months and are reimbursed at a rate of 50p per mile, which covers the mileage incurred from home and back again.
